I know that social services needs to be called (again), it's just such a difficult thing to do, when Nana downplays it all to them. Plus, then you have to worry about retaliation (against Nana, against me) because the PUS? They are nothing if not vindictive.

Anonymous: My health issues are the reason I'm still here. I don't know, can.not.figure.out. why certain other people haven't left. Thanks for the prayers.Never That Easyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04008749218695113192noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17043579.post-3421377434844221232007-04-05T13:25:00.000-05:002007-04-05T13:25:00.000-05:00Uh, just curious. Maybe if everyone grew up and moved on, Nana could get some decent non-relative renters.
Whatever the situation, prayers for an answer that suits one and all are on the way. Oy!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17043579.post-84840507870887236752007-04-05T02:24:00.000-05:002007-04-05T02:24:00.000-05:00I'm thinking that calling social services and repo...I'm thinking that calling social services and reporting elder abuse would get you a social worker to look into things in this state, and should in yours. A social worker can be more help than a cop, in that then the family might be put on a case list and the worker might come by once in a while to check on things. If they only came by twice, the PUS might figure they would be back and it might do some good.

I say might a lot, because these things vary a great deal, I don't know what the laws are like in Massachusetts or the case load of your social workers. But, when I did home visits to teach parents how to discipline and protect their kids, if I had witnessed something like this and not reported it I would have been in big trouble.

If I knew where and who these folks were, I'd call and report it right now. But, "someone is abusing an elderly woman somewhere in Massachusetts" isn't too helpful.Maya's Grannyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12183715043200608144noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17043579.post-74559619391738383702007-04-04T10:55:00.000-05:002007-04-04T10:55:00.000-05:00That is abuse. My bf in college was a manipulating mentally anusive ass. I was lucky, I did not marry him.

I'm very sorry you have to live in such a frustrated state of mind.

One might want to add cyanide to the duct tape before attaches the morons to the garage door. Just a suggestion :)

Your Nana needs to be willing to let them go. Until Nana's on board I don't see any changes in the situation.

You are a good granddaughter. You care and love your Nana and you both need that.

I'll add PUS to my prayers. Nana as well.
